DMHSS Teachers’ Day Celebration
Joining the rest of the country in honouring the teachers, Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great gusto and gaiety on 5th September at Town Fellowship, DABA.
Dr. Maongkala Longchar, member, School Governing Board took the stage to felicitate the teachers. Congratulating the teachers for all that they have done Dr. Longchar said that one can never put the value of teachers into words for their invaluable contributions. She also reminded the students that teachers deserved to be honoured not only on teachers’ day but at all times, she added that the best way to honour their teachers is to become the best versions of themselves.
Meanwhile, Ram Sharma, one of the senior most Assistant teacher was awarded as the ‘Teacher of the Year’ 2019. The annual award is initiated by the School Governing Board which carries a certificate and cash. The award is given for the dedication and excellent service rendered to the institution.
Earlier in the programme invocation was pronounced by Mrs. Imsusenla, Director, Christian Education Ministry, DABA. Word of encouragement and prayer for the teacher was offered by Rev. I. Wati, Pastor DABA. He reminded that in teaching profession the teachers not only teach an academic syllabus but make a huge difference in many lives through their lives. Quoting from the book of Titus 2:7 – 8 he encouraged the teacher to set an example and show integrity in their works.
The students put up an excellent performance that was interspersed with speech, dances, scintillating cultural show, songs and beat box. The programme ended with benediction by Rev. Imly Jamir, Associate Pastor, DABA.
